15 Platte
About This Project
Platte Fifteen is a unique 5-story project utilizing Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), a new approach toward sustainable construction. The 150,418 square foot building amenities and features include highly efficient floor plates, 10-foot full height glass, rooftop deck with unobstructed views of downtown and the mountains, usable common areas, outdoor patios, secured lobby, bike storage, commuter locker room, fitness center and underground parking. This was the first CLT job in Denver and one of a very few in the country at the time. The building design was unique to every trade partner involved, with wood being used instead of steel. It was a huge success across all trades. Our team had to ensure the framing layout of our CFMF clips were accurate as they were inserted between the CLT deck and gypcrete topping coat. This made removal of the clips nearly impossible without damage to the finish. Each clip location was chalk lined and re-checked prior to installation to ensure accuracy of the locations. Attention to detail was pivotal in this process and our team excelled in completing the task.
